I asked my daughter if she was interested in designing a pin we can make with the plan to donate all proceeds to organizations supporting BLACK LIVES MATTER.
Instead of one design, she decided to create a series of pins instead:
The ANGEL SERIES.
Each pin is 2" wide and about 1.5" tall. Each is laser cut and laser engraved from 1/4" Walnut* glued with an industrial strength adhesive to a metal pin with rubber clutch.
*This pin is made from natural products and will have variations in texture, color and grain in each piece.
100% of the proceeds will be donated to three organizations my daughter chose because they support youth and families in need in our local community.
IMPRINT CITY - Imprint City is a non-profit organization, activating neighborhoods with performing and visual art events to encourage increased foot traffic and economic vitality in desolate areas. We seek to additionally demonstrate how, in these spaces, culturally responsive programs and strategic marketing, foot traffic significantly impact the local economy, improve public safety and overall community goodwill. To Date Imprint City has attracted over 15,000 event goers, 200 participating neighborhood retail and food merchants, 100 youth employees 75 community based organization partnerships and 150 performing and visual artists to the neighborhood.
LARKIN STREET YOUTH SERVICES - Since 1984, Larkin Street Youth Services has given more than 75,000 young people a safe place to rebuild their lives. We provide housing, education and employment training, and health and wellness supports to help these young people get off the street for good.
HOMELESS PRENATAL PROGRAM - HPP’s mission is: In partnership with our families, break the cycle of childhood poverty. HPP is built on a foundation of supportive, nonjudgmental case management, we empower families, particularly mothers motivated by pregnancy and parenthood, to recognize their strengths and trust in their own capacity to transform their lives.
